Chiropractic Neurology
Chiropractic Neurology is a specialisation within the field of Chiropractic that involves the treatment of the peripheral and central nervous system without the use of drugs or surgery. Instead it relies on the fact that your nervous system, brain and spinal cord need the stimulation from receptors in your body to function properly.
Receptors are specialised nerve cells that convert environmental stimulus (e.g. light, sound, taste, touch) into electrical impulses that increase your brain’s activity allowing you to perceive these stimuli. The central nervous system needs this stimulus to remain healthy in much the same way as your muscles need exercise.

Of all the environmental stimuli which we receive, gravity is the only constant one. Our body has receptors in the joints and muscles which are constantly stimulated by gravity and our central nervous system relies very heavily on this for normal activity.
Without the normal functioning of certain joints, feedback to the nervous system can become imbalanced and create a wide variety of symptoms.
A Chiropractic Neurologist will examine your nervous system from top to toe to determine if any pathways are showing signs of poor function and will thrive to restore normal function to any affected areas by using your receptors to exercise the weakened areas. This treatment allows these areas to strengthen through a process known as “plasticity”, thus allowing relief of patient’s symptoms.
